The Story of Prophet Musa (AS) for Kids: A Guide for Parents & Educators (Part 1)
🌟 The Story – Part 1: Baby Musa and Allah’s Protection
Prophet Musa (AS) is one of the greatest prophets in Islam. His life is filled with powerful stories that teach children about Tawhid, trust in Allah, and good character. In Part 1 of this story series, kids will learn how Allah protected baby Musa from danger in miraculous ways.
🤱A Mother’s Faith and Allah’s Promise
The people of Egypt were ruled by a cruel king—Pharaoh, who claimed to be a god. He feared that a boy from Bani Israel would one day take his throne, so he ordered that all newborn boys be killed.
In this dark time, a woman from Bani Israel gave birth to a baby boy—Musa (AS). Fearing for his life, she turned to Allah in desperation. Allah inspired her with a plan:
“And We inspired the mother of Musa, ‘Suckle him; but when you fear for him, cast him into the river and do not fear and do not grieve. Indeed, We will return him to you and will make him [one] of the messengers” (Surah Al-Qasas, 28:7)
💡 Teaching Point: Introduce Tawhid by explaining that only Allah deserves to be worshipped. Pharaoh was just a human who committed the greatest sin by claiming to be god.
🧺The Basket and the River
Musa’s mother placed him in a basket and gently let it float down the river. She asked her daughter to follow it from a distance. The basket reached none other than Pharaoh’s palace, where his wife Asiya (RA) found baby Musa.
Allah placed love in her heart, and she pleaded with Pharaoh to keep the baby: “Perhaps he will benefit us, or we will adopt him as a son.”
💡 Teaching Point: This shows Tawakkul—complete trust in Allah. Even in the most hopeless situations, Allah’s plan is unfolding perfectly.
🍼 The Miraculous Reunion
Baby Musa refused to drink milk from any wet nurse. His sister, watching from afar, said she knew someone who could feed him. She brought their own mother—just as Allah had promised. As soon as baby Musa was in her arms, he began to feed peacefully.
💡 Teaching Point: Allah always keeps His promises. He returned Musa to his mother in the most beautiful way—safe and under royal protection.
🧕 Asiya: A Woman of Faith
Asiya was the kind and brave wife of Pharaoh. When she found baby Musa floating in a basket on the river, she felt sorry for him and asked Pharaoh to let her keep him. She took care of Musa and raised him in the palace with love. Even though Pharaoh was very mean, Asiya believed in Allah and stayed strong. She is remembered as one of the best women in history because of her faith and courage.
💡 Teaching Point: Share her story as one of the greatest women in Islam. She stood up for truth and cared for Prophet Musa (AS) with love.
